Dr. Xiaohua (Sean) Jin is an accomplished academician and researcher with a diverse portfolio spanning project management, construction, and engineering. Armed with a Ph.D. and a wealth of experience in academia and industry, Dr. Jin has emerged as a leading figure in his field.
Dr. Jin's academic journey commenced at Tongji University, Shanghai, China, where he earned his Bachelor of Construction Engineering. He furthered his studies at the National University of Singapore, earning a Master of Science in Building by Research. Subsequently, he pursued his doctoral studies at the University of Melbourne, culminating in a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in construction engineering.
Presently, Dr. Jin serves as an Associate Professor in Project Management at the School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment at Western Sydney University, where he also holds the position of Director of Academic Programs for various disciplines. Dr. Jin is also the Deputy Director of the Centre for Smart Modern Construction. Additionally, he holds the roles of Joint Coordinator of Working Commission W055 Construction Industry Economics of the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction and Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Engineering & Quantity Surveying at INTI International University, Malaysia, further enriching his global academic engagement.
Dr. Jin's research endeavors have been widely recognized, evidenced by the numerous grants and awards he has secured. Notably, he received substantial funding from entities such as the New South Wales Government and James Martin Institute for Public Policy for his innovative research projects addressing critical industry challenges. Dr. Jin's scholarly contributions are extensive, encompassing over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers that reflect his deep understanding and innovative approach to addressing contemporary issues in construction and engineering.
A dedicated mentor, Dr. Jin has supervised numerous doctoral and master's students, guiding them in their research pursuits across various domains within project management, construction, and engineering.
