Dr. Rafik Hamza is an associate professor of cybersecurity at Tokyo International University (TIU), Tokyo, Japan. He obtained his doctorate degree in cryptography and security from the University of Batna 2, Algeria, in 2017, following his MSc in the same field in 2014. Prior to joining TIU, he served as a researcher at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) in Tokyo, Japan, from 2020 to 2022, focusing on big data integration and privacy-preserving techniques. He also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Guangzhou University, China, from 2019 to 2020, specializing in blockchain-enabled smart contracts for IoT applications. Before that, he served as a principal engineer at DC Research and Development Sonatrach in Algeria from 2018 to 2019, applying artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to industrial systems. Dr. Hamza's research interests include cybersecurity, applied cryptography, privacy-preserving machine learning, and blockchain-enabled smart contracts. At TIU, he teaches courses on cybersecurity, fintech, data science, and Python programming language, and actively contributes to the research community as a reviewer for various international journals. Dr. Hamza is dedicated to advancing the security of our digital world through his passion for research and teaching.
