Dr. Nebojsa Bacanin's educational journey culminated in the attainment of his Ph.D. degrees from the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Belgrade in 2015, with exceptional academic performance. He subsequently held the position of vice-dean at the Graduate School of Computer Science and the Faculty of Informatics and Computing in Belgrade, Serbia, demonstrating leadership and administrative skills. Currently, Dr. Bacanin serves as a Full Professor and as the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research at Singidunum University, where he continues to contribute significantly to the field of computer science through his research endeavors. Specializing in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, stochastic optimization algorithms, swarm intelligence, soft-computing, optimization and modeling, image processing, computer vision, and cloud and distributed computing, he is actively engaged in pioneering research areas. Dr. Bacanin's innovative work focuses on hybrid methods between machine learning and metaheuristics, addressing NP-hard challenges and enhancing swarm intelligence and other metaheuristics for various practical research areas. His dedication to advancing the field of computer science has been recognized through his inclusion in the prestigious Stanford University annual list of the 2% best world researchers in the field of Artificial Intelligence for the years 2020 and 2021, as well as in the Stanford University career list for the year 2022.
