Prof. Paolo Landa holds a PhD in Applied Economics and Quantitative Methods and a MSc in Maritime Economics and Logistics, both from the University of Genoa, Italy. His educational background has equipped him with expertise in healthcare operations research, health economics, and health technology assessment (HTA).
Since September 2020, Prof. Landa has been a Professor of Analytics and Data Science at the Faculty of Business Administration. Prior to this, he worked as a health economist in the pharmaceutical industry and as a researcher in health economics at the University of Exeter Medical School in the UK. He has extensive experience as an analyst in the Italian healthcare system, where he contributed to hospital organisation, cost-effectiveness analyses, and healthcare simulations. His recent research focuses on hospital mortality linked to missed care by nurses, economic evaluation of violence in secondary care, and improving clinical care pathways using BPMN and process mining.
