Prof. Vítor Braga holds a Ph.D. in Business Sciences (2008) from Middlesex University, London, UK, along with a bachelor's degree in economics (1999) and a Master of Science in Industrial Economics (2002).
Since 1999, he has been a faculty member at the School of Technology and Management, where he is the Director of the Centre for Innovation and Research in Business Sciences and Information Systems (CIICESI), which he co-founded. His academic expertise focuses on entrepreneurial processes, including entrepreneurial and social innovation, international entrepreneurship, family business, and inter-firm collaboration. Prof. Braga has supervised 6 Ph.D. and 30 MSc theses to completion, with several more in progress.
He has held leadership roles such as Director of the Bachelor in Business Sciences and Master in International Management and currently coordinates a department overseeing 10 academic degrees. His contributions to the scientific community include editorial board memberships, organizing international conferences, peer reviewing for the European Commission’s Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS3), and participating in national and international research projects. Prof. Braga has authored 12 edited books, 11 special journal issues, 59 papers in international journals, 19 book chapters, and presented at over 120 conferences. He has also served as an expert for higher education accreditation agencies in Portugal and Lithuania, and as an international expert for the European Commission.
