Dr. Asad Mohsin holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Northern Territory University (now Charles Darwin University), Australia, earned in 2003, with a thesis examining cultural and intergenerational differences in West Malaysians’ attitudes toward holidaying in Australia’s Northern Territory. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the same institution, graduating in 1995 with Distinction. His research during the MBA focused on tourism and hospitality, particularly in strategic management and international marketing.
Dr. Mohsin’s academic career spans over two decades, primarily at the University of Waikato, New Zealand, where he currently serves as Emeritus Professor in the Vice Chancellor’s Office. Since joining Waikato Management School in 2003, he has held various key administrative positions, including Assistant Vice Chancellor for Community Engagement (2023), Chairperson of the Department of Marketing (2015–2017), and Director of the Institute for Business Research (2013–2014). His leadership extended to academic program administration as Qualifications Convenor, Graduate Convenor, and Acting Ph.D. Convenor.
An expert in hospitality and tourism, Dr. Mohsin has contributed extensively to teaching and research supervision, including courses on hotel and resort management, food and beverage management, and enterprise management. His involvement with the prestigious “Triple Crown Accredited” Waikato Management School underscores his significant academic and professional impact in the fields of tourism, hospitality, and management education.
