Mia Larson holds a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Business with a specialization in marketing from Uppsala University. She pursued her doctoral studies at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg, where she successfully defended her thesis in Business Administration in 2003.
Currently, she is a Professor of Business Administration at the Service Research Center (CTF), Karlstad Business School at Karlstad University. Before this, she served as an Associate Professor at Lund University for many years. Her research focuses on destination management, event and festival management, digital service innovation, social media communication, platform organizations, and the sharing economy.
