Dr. Agarwal is a highly accomplished professional with extensive expertise in clean development and climate change mitigation technologies. He holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and has been actively involved in various roles related to environmental sciences, remote sensing technology, climate analysis, and project management.
Currently, Dr. Agarwal serves as a freelance consultant in clean development and climate change mitigation technologies, alongside his role as the President of the Centre for Climate Change & Clean Development Initiatives in Ahmedabad, India.
His specialization lies in reconstructing environmental information using multi-platform data, utilizing remote sensing technology for environmental and climate studies, systematic analysis of climate and environmental data, ocean state forecasting, climate change impact analysis, and developing clean development methodologies.
Throughout his career, Dr. Agarwal has received recognition for his contributions, including honors from the International Society for Optical Engineering and the Indian Meteorological Society.
In his past positions, he has served as a Distinguished Professor at the Bhaskaracharya Institute of Space Applications & Geoinformatics, Chief Scientist at the Space Applications Centre (Indian Space Research Organisation), Group Director at the Space Applications Centre, and in various advisory and leadership roles related to climate research and oceanography.
