Prof. Wenai Shen completed his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering in 2014 at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, after earning his M.S. in Structural Engineering from Xiamen University, China, in 2008, and his BEng in Civil Engineering from Hunan University, China, in 2005.
Prof. Shen currently holds the position of Professor (2024–present) at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in the School of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering, where he has also served as an Associate Professor (2018–2023) and Assistant Professor (2015–2018). Prior to his academic appointments, he worked as a Research Associate (2013–2014) at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and as a Structural Engineer (2008–2009) at the Design Institute, China Xinxing Construction Development Co. LTD. His research interests include structural control, cable vibration control, structural dynamics, earthquake engineering, and the engineering applications of artificial intelligence.
