Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  1. Planning to publish your next article in a Cureus Journal?

This page addresses some of the most common researcher queries on manuscript publishing. We also welcome new queries from prospective authors. All such queries can be directed to cureus-support@springernature.com.

  2. What is the Continuous Article Publication (CAP) model?

Cureus Journals publish articles with volume numbers as soon as they get editorial approval following a rigorous peer review. This publishing model, which facilitates the rapid dissemination of research, is referred to as the “CAP” model.

  3. Do I need to pay an article processing charge (APC) or a journal subscription fee?

No, researchers do not need to pay any APCs to publish their manuscripts in Cureus Journals. Moreover, anyone with a basic internet connection can access articles published in Cureus Journals free of charge.

  4. What is the difference between APC and manuscript editing fee?

Journals cover publishing costs by accepting APCs for editorially approved articles. However, Cureus Journals do not have any APCs. However, we do charge an editing fee (waived until April 30, 2025) if the submitted version has excessive errors that require the attention of a dedicated scientific editor. On the other hand, if manuscripts are significantly error-free, they qualify for zero editing fees.
