Dr. Karl-Johan Grinnemo's academic journey began with the attainment of a Ph.D. in computer science from Karlstad University in 2006. With nearly 15 years of professional experience, he has honed his skills in various roles within the telecom industry.
Initially, Dr. Grinnemo worked as an Engineer at Ericsson, focusing on the mobile core and radio access network, particularly in the signaling system. Later, he transitioned to a Consultant position at Tieto, where he continued to contribute his expertise to the telecom sector.
In 2009-2010, Dr. Grinnemo took on the role of acting Associate Professor at the School of Information and Communication Technology, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, while on leave from Tieto. Since 2014, he has been serving as a Senior Lecturer at Karlstad University, where he shares his knowledge and experience with the next generation of professionals.
His research focuses on enhancing the reliability, throughput, and reducing latency in IP networks through multipath transport protocols like multipath TCP. Additionally, his interests span into areas such as energy-efficient cellular IoT networks, service placement in mobile edge networks, and telemetry in software-defined, programmable networks. Dr. Grinnemo's dedication to both academia and industry underscores his commitment to advancing the field of computer science and telecommunications.
